New Year’s Resolution for Healthy Hair

New Year’s Resolution for Healthy Hair

Blonde Healthy Hair

We’re just past the first week of this -so far- cold 2017 but, have you maintain your promise made on the last weeks of 2016?

On average, only 8% of people who had a new year’s resolution stick with it through all year long.

Not to worry, studies confirm that it only takes 21 days to create a new habit. In case you haven’t done it yet, you still have plenty of time to create your new routine for healthy and great looking hair this year.

A quick guide in step-by-step points towards healthy hair this 2017.

1) More visits and pampering at the Salon

When you are spending way too much time at home brushing and styling your hair in the morning, maybe it is time to get that fresh haircut that your hair deserves and start your year with a great look, feeling gorgeous.

Also if you are still contemplating on what is going on with those orange and brassy tones on the balayage you got in the summer, it probably means you need a little bit of colour refresh!

Either you recreate the balayage, or tone it if that can be a quick-fix solution (remember, quick fixes don’t last), or just opt for a new full colour and cover it all for the winter months, for a bold look!

If you are indecisive if either getting a haircut done with your colour or not, know that at our hair salon, we have special combo prices for services when done all during the same visit, making it a little less harsh on your wallet to look beautiful.

This means you have that little extra cash you need to splurge on a nice treatment for your hair.

Either it’s OLAPLEX, a FUSIO-DOSE by Kerastase, TREAT-ME by Kevin Murphy, a PRO-FIBER or ABSOLUTE REPAIR by L’Oreal Professionnel, make sure to pamper your hair with a nice moisturizing and repairing hair treatment, at least 3-4 times a year.

This not only will make your colour you’ve just spend your money on last longer, but the overall health and look of you hair will be nicer and healthier for at least 4-6 weeks.

2) Only use professional hair care

If you want your hair colour to last longer, using that harsh shampoo you found at the Drugstore or at the airport before your last vacation definitely – and unfortunately – won’t help you with that.

Professional hair care is not only formulated with no sulphates, parabens or any harsh components damaging for your hair colour, also have the highest percentage of high-quality ingredients your hair needs to get and stay healtht the longest.

This mean less pampering and less spending in the long run, and you will be able to enjoy your fresh hair colour longer.

3) Exfoliate your Scalp and Hair

If may seem difficult to believe but, just like your skin, scalp and hair needs to be exfoliated from toxins and old dead cells, dirt and product build up, in order to prosper and rejuvenate.

To benefit the most from your shampoo, conditioners and hair masks, exfoliating is a great way to let in the hair fiber and scalp all the active ingredients your professional hair care has to offer.

There are a couple of products we recommend to use for this purpose:

– Chronologiste Hair / Sculp Scrub by Kerastase

– Maxi.Wash Unisex Shampoo by Kevin Murphy

4) Drink more water and stay active

Waking up having 2 glasses of water with a slice of lemon not only will make you stay hydrated and feel refresh and energized right from the morning, but will also contribute to make your whole system work better rejecting unwanted toxins and make your hair grow faster.

It is said that drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day benefits a stronger growth of your hair.
