IN SALON PROCEDURES & PROTOCOL

 

At TONY SHAMAS, we are proud to care. Ensuring the health and safety of our clients, team, and community remains our top priority. 

WE BELIEVE IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE A SAFE, SANITIZED, AND A COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL, AS MUCH AS WE STRIVE TO OFFER AN EVEN BETTER QUALITY AND RELAXING EXPERIENCE THROUGHOUT YOUR SALON VISIT.    

We take our role as members of your community seriously and wanted to provide you with the procedures and protocols we have in place to guarantee a safe salon reopening. As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain committed to doing everything we can to help flatten the curve. In doing so, we wanted to share the decisions we’ve made to adapt the TONY SHAMAS experience during these extraordinary times.

We will be receiving guests by APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Our goal is to limit the amount of people in the salon at any given time. Spacing between people in the salon will be six feet apart at minimum, except when team members are servicing guests. To accomplish this, we will modify appointment schedules accordingly; and utilize every other station to ensure social distancing is observed. 

 

LIABILITY WAIVER 

A COVID-19 LIABILITY WAIVER IS ALREADY AVAILABLE (LINK BELOW) ONLINE TO FILL, YOU WILL ALSO RECEIVE IT IN YOUR EMAIL APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION/REMINDER. THE FORM MUST BE FILLED AND SIGNED BEFORE ARRIVING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT IN ORDER TO ACCEPT YOUR VISIT IN OUR PREMISES.

WE WILL ENGAGE IN TOUCH-LESS GREETINGS AND GOODBYES, AS WE WILL NOT BE SHAKING HANDS, HUGGING, and WILL OBSERVE A SELF COAT HANGING AT THIS TIME (PLEASE DO NOT BRING A COAT OR EXTRA BAGS UNLESS STRICTLY NECESSARY) 

 

PREPARING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT:

  1. Wear a face mask in the location at ALL times. If you are having a colour/highlights/balayage appointment bring two masks or one mask that can be washed as colour might stain the textile.

  2. Arrive in clean clothing, with only your personal device and form of payment.

  3. Arrive no more than five minutes before your booked appointment, as designated waiting areas will no longer be available. You might be asked to wait outside until your service provider is ready to serve you.

  4. Attend appointments alone. Friends, family members, children and/or pets will be asked to stay at home.

 

ARRIVING AT YOUR APPOINTMENT:

  1. The Doors will be locked. Press the Door-Bell Outside the salon, you will be asked to confirm if you have an appointment, you are feeling well – no fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, via interphone.

  2. Expect to have your temperature checked upon entering the location. We will use a contactless, infrared thermometer to check the temperature of every team member and client that enters the salon. Any team member or client with a temperature above 99°F will be sent home, advised to seek medical attention and welcomed to return to the location when a fever and symptoms of COVID-19 no longer exist.

  3. Please disinfect your hands upon arrival, using the sanitation stations provided PRIOR heading to restrooms if needed. It is advised to wash hands with clean water and soap for a minimum of 20 seconds and use hand sanitizer throughout your stay, Gloves will be provided after sanitizing hands for extra precautions, however are not mandatory.

  4. Outside food and/or drinks will not be permitted in the salon. Serving beverages, iPad magazine readers, and complimentary charging stations will be temporarily unavailable.

 

DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT:

  1. Haircut clients will be provided with a protective disposable layer and disposable neck strip (men).

  2. Colour clients will be provided with a protective disposable layer.

  3. Instant post-colour treatments and OLAPLEX will be available

  4. If you wish to purchase one of our retail product(s), the Salon Coordinator will collect the preferred product(s) and have them ready for the end of your service.

 

FINALIZING YOUR APPOINTMENT:

 1. Please prepare to pay for service(s) and/or product(s) in the chair to limit front-desk interactions. A pin pad will be provided, and cashless payments will be both preferred and encouraged.

DUE TO EXTREMELY HIGH VOLUME OF PHONE CALLS AND CHANGES TO OUR SCHEDULE THAT IMPELLED ON-THE-GO OVER-THE-PHONE BOOKINGS,

NO APPOINTMENTS/COMMUNICATIONS WILL BE HELD OVER THE PHONE AT THIS TIME. 

IF CALLING, LEAVE A VOICEMAIL WITH YOUR DATE/TIME REQUEST. WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO ACCOMMODATE THE TIMING OF SCHEDULE AND CONTACT YOU TO CONFIRM.

 

We have taken extra precautions and have put more rigorous cleaning measures in place to equip our team with additional sanitation procedures and protocols but also added extra features (ex: ductless air conditioning) to enhance comfort of visit and safety for air circulation. All team members will receive supplementary health and sanitation training to prevent the spread of germs.

 

WE HAVE MANDATED THAT ALL TEAM MEMBERS:

  1. Wear a mask at all times and, in certain cases, a face shield.
  2. Wear a face mask AND shield at the washbasin when removing colour from client’s hair.
  3. Wear a face mask AND shield during all face-to-face interactions with clients.
  4. Wash their hands for at least 20 seconds, before and after every appointment, as well as the use of hand sanitizer thought their shifts.
  5. Clean and disinfect all tools with alcohol, before and after every appointment.
  6. Clean and disinfect their chair and station, before and after every appointment.
  7. Sanitize their hands throughout the service if they change tools or step away from their station at any time.
  8. Use disposable capes, gloves, neck strips only.
  9. Less Bookings and Double bookings (no other guests will be serviced during your colour processing time by the same stylist)
  10. Stay home if they are sick and/or not feeling well.

We appreciate the urgency to confirm your appointment(s) as soon as possible; and with limited phone staff, please use ONLY EMAIL FOR APPOINTMENTS AND ANY TYPE OF INQUIRIES.

Due to the changes of timing for services of your Hairstylist, your previously booked appointment(s) may not stand as it was originally reserved.

Our team will be working diligently to accommodate the many changes that have occurred.

Although essential, we recognize that the changes to the TONY SHAMAS experience as we know it are immense. We remain committed to providing an experience that is unparalleled, despite the temporary modifications we’ve made to our services.

WE ARE DEEPLY GRATEFUL FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND UNDERSTANDING DURING THIS TIME.

We will continue to assess this situation as it evolves. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to keep well, stay informed, and follow the advice of health care officials. Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
