Hair and Art: it’s GIF’s COLLAGE! It’s Luca Mainini
Luca Mainini, the Italian fashion GIF collage artist, created the story of an ipotetical Tony Shamas’s guest.
From the first contact with our hair salon, the phone call, to the actual final result with the hair did and walking out looking fab and all glam-ed up!
His art looks like fashion runway shows colliding with pop culture in a hallucinating collage mesh-up. And it all comes alive with GIFs.
In a cyber Instagram world where everyone can easily hashtag as #art basically anything amatorial, or created without passion and lack of genius, Mr. Mainini found his way up to the New Yorker Instagram accounts of calibers like Jeremy Scott from Moschino, to Italian fashion house Missoni, to name a few.
His absurd yet genius way of creating these collages and GIFs capture you so much that you can literally stare at them for hours and still be fascinated by them.
Not only did created work for fashion magazines and Instagram’s accounts, but also for Fashion Icons Dolce & Gabbana, Anna dello Russo (Vogue Japan), Thom Browne and Givenchy.
He picks at chunks of loud elements of pop culture and fashion shows, cuts them in smaller pieces and re-builds them back together to create an hybrid extraterrestrial creature that one would expect to see in 70’s psychedelic sci-fi movies.
His work seems to be coming from some flashing light circuit left open inside of a hot tub of a steamy washroom.
His GIFs are visually overloading and stimulating.
Your mind, your eyesight and intellect will have to work much harder than usual to process what is being hidden in the camouflage of the vision your screen is showing you.
