Tony Shamas is an experienced hair colourist and stylist. He is known for creating some of the best blonde highlights in Toronto.

With over 30 years of experience in the hair industry, Tony Shamas leads a skilled and dedicated team of hair stylists.

Tony was born in Baghdad, Iraq, and lived there until the age of six. He then moved frequently with his family, living in Egypt, Algeria, Italy, and Spain. His father was a physicist, and his mother was a hairdresser, which influenced his creative path.

After settling in Canada, Tony began his apprenticeship at a salon in Clarkson, Mississauga. He quickly realized this was his passion and went on to study Applied Arts and Visual Design.

Hair styling runs in Tony’s family. His mother, Bushra, and his brother are also hairstylists and operate their own salon in Canada.

Tony’s passion for beauty reflects the cultures of the many countries he has lived in.

“My mother was always invited to gala events and elegant parties when we lived in Egypt and Italy,” Tony recalls. “She was known as the ‘queen of beauty.’”

Although she was surrounded by impeccably dressed women with beautiful hair, she taught me something important: “The most important relationship you will ever have is the one you have with yourself.”

He believes that to make others feel beautiful, you must first feel confident within yourself. This mindset is essential when creating hair as a form of art.

Tony has a warm and outgoing personality, and he takes pride in every guest’s satisfaction.

He is especially known in Toronto for clients who want a full, bright blonde look.

Over the years, he has styled and coloured hair for fashion magazine teams, as well as international actresses and singers, including Lara Daans and Janet Jackson.

Maureen B is an experience hairstylist and hair colourist in downtown Toronto at Tony Shamas with over 12 years of experience.

Maureen loves giving layered haircuts for women’s with voluminous and lasting blow-outs, and trendy hair styles to men.

She has great experience with blonde highlights, balayage and hair colouring but also with long layered haircuts on both fine and thick hair.

Her desire to thrive in an environment that was worthy of her ambitions is what brought her to Tony Shamas, where she joined the creative team.

Clarissa was introduced to hairstyling at a young age through beauty tips and hair tutorials through YouTube, since then she has been hooked.

Through co-op in high school Clarissa learned the ropes of the hairstyling industry with Donato’s.

She went further on to graduate from Donato’s Academy of Hairstyling to fuel her passion.

Since then, Clarissa has worked in other salons around the TORONTO area to gain experience, to eventually work at Tony Shamas hair salon, where she is happily enjoying to master her craft.

She loves to make people smile with their hair and make them feel beautiful and confident with quality hairstyling.

Ivan B is the co-owner and salon artistic director.

Managing the direction of the hair salon and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Ivan is originally from Italy, and has lived part of his life in the South of Brazil, South Florida and finally moved permanently here in Toronto.

Ivan is also a certified laser hair removal and skin tightening technician who graduated at the Canadian Beauty College – Downtown Toronto Campus, however, does not perform laser hair removal treatments.

Usually, Ivan is also the salon coordinator and is responsible for curating the lovely music that is being played in salon and selects personally the fashion shows displayed on the TV’s in the colour area.
